Judy and I departed early afternoon, Friday, 8 July, for the long drive to Portland OR to meet our new grand son, Beckett. We got to see Ingrid, Warren and Willa as well. We got motels for two nights along the road and arrived in Portland Sunday morning.
We had a great time with Ingrid’s family. We attended two family music classes, went to the zoo and a brief trip to the Children’s Museum. We got to playgrounds a couple of times. But mostly we spent the time at home with the family and got to know Beckett who turned one month on the 12th.

The drive home was tiring. We left Portland Friday morning about 9:00 PDT and drove nearly 700 miles to Whitehall MT. The next day was more grueling. We got rolling about 8:00 MDT and drove 16 hours straight for more than 1040 miles! We got home Saturday night (actually early morning Sunday) at 1:00 am CDT. Hard as that day was, it gained us a day getting ready for the next trip.
We now have a quick turn around to get prepared for our annual sailing cruise on the Canadian North Shore of Lake Superior. I will post for that trip as we have internet access.
Hi Larry & Judy, we just loved seeing these pictures of your trip to see the family. Your grandkids are darling and we are thrilled for Ingrid & Warren having such fine children. Enjoy your sailing trip in Superior. WE are in Halifax now and enjoying the Armdale Yacht Club. This is a great city. May leave tomorrow for St. Margaret’s Bay. Love, Joyce
